The mission of the National Take Back the Night event is to create safe communities and respectful relationships through awareness events and initiatives. . Women across the world seek to end sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual abuse, and all other forms of sexual violence by speaking out against these crimes, but there is much to be accomplished.

Due to current weather conditions, the Take Back The Night Rally route has been changed. The gathering will start at the Lawrence YWCA Fina house and a walk through the park will follow ending at the Lawrence City Hall.
