The City of Lawrence Office of Planning & Development is convening a group of municipal officials and key stakeholders to participate in two morning workshops to assess the City’s vulnerability to extreme weather events exacerbated by climate change and to develop action-oriented resilience strategies.

 The workshop goals are to:

• Build connections within Lawrence among stakeholders on local planning and hazard mitigation efforts;
• Evaluate the strengths and vulnerabilities of the City’s neighborhoods, infrastructure and natural resources;
• Develop and prioritize resilience actions for the City, businesses, institutions, neighborhoods and community groups; and
• Identify immediate opportunities to advance actions that reduce the impact of hazards and increase resilience in Lawrence.
