Cosecha es un movimiento nacional no violento que lucha por la protección, dignidad y respeto permanentes de los 11 millones de inmigrantes indocumentados en los Estados Unidos.

Los inmigrantes contribuyen cotidianamente a esta nacion de manera social, política y económica. Es por eso que este 1ro de mayo Cosecha está planeando un boicot migrante a nivel nacional llamado Dia Sin Inmigrantes. Cosecha cree que si el público estadounidense es honesto de que este país depende del trabajo de los inmigrantes y del consumo de inmigrantes, cambiará completamente el discurso sobre la inmigración en este país.

Es hora de preguntar - ¿cómo sería un día sin inmigrantes? ¿Cómo sería una semana sin los trabajadores de restaurante? Este país tendría que elegir entre seguir explotando a los trabajadores y separando familias, o finalmente darle un fin a su historia racista y darnos la protección, la dignidad y el respeto que exigimos.

Lawrence ha sido desde siempre una ciudad de inmigrantes. En 1912 inmigrantes de Lawrence que exigían mejores salarios y mejores condiciones hicieron historia liderando la exitosa huelga "Pan y Rosas" que duro 9 semanas.

Este 1ro de mayo si eres un inmigrante o/y crees en los derechos de los inmigrantes únete al boicot nacional no vayas a trabajar, a la escuela o a comprar, únete a Cosecha Lawrence y varias otras organizaciones locales y marcha con nosotros en la ciudad de Lawrence. Demostremos al público cuánto la economía de este país depende de los inmigrantes, pero más importante que Lawrence esta listo para defender de nuevo los derechos humanos y laborales de los inmigrantes!

Cosecha is a national nonviolent movement fighting for permanent protection, dignity and respect for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.

Immigrants contribute to this coutry everyday socially, polically, and economically. That is why on May 1st Cosecha is planning a nationwide migrant boycott called Un Dia Sin Inmigrantes/ Day Without Immigrants. Cosecha believes that if the American public is honest that this country relies on immigrant labor and immigrant consumption, it will completely shift the discourse around immigration in this country.

It is time to ask - what would a day without immigrants really look like? What would a week without restaurant workers feel like? This country would have to choose between continuing to exploit workers and separating families, or finally come to terms with our racist history and give us the protection, the dignity, and the respect we demand.

Lawrence has always been a city of immigrants. In 1912 Lawrence immigrants who demanded better wages and better work conditions made history leading the successful strike "Bread and Roses" that lasted 9 weeks.

This May 1st if you are an immigrant and/or believe in immigrants' rights join the national boycott do not go to work, school or buy anything on this day join Cosecha Lawrence and several other local organizations at our Day Without Immigrants march in Lawrence. Lets show the public how much the economy of this country depends on immigrants, but most importantly that Lawrence is ready to stand up again for human and labor rights of all immigrants!
