Beyond Soccer, in collaboration with Everyone’s A Player and the Lawrence High School Athletic Department developed a two-week camp at the high school campus for middle and high school youth last August. The Academy’s (LSLA's) chief objective is to introduce Lawrence youth -- rising 8th-12th grade students -- to a meaningful and quality sports camp, otherwise unavailable or unaffordable in the City. In summer 2017, LSLA will offer 5 different sports (tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball and field hockey), plus speed and agility, nutrition education, leadership development, and teambuilding components. A highlight in 2-16 was our speaker-series that brought in a professional athlete, or coach, from each sport, and a lead and follow boot camp training with partner, Get Burly. We want to expand participation to 300 students in 2017, and 400 students in 2018, over a 3-week period.
